Don’t we all just kind of want to put the past two years behind us? What better way to look forward, then to plan one of those epic, bucket list vacations that you’ve been imaging only in your dreams (or via Zoom) for way too long? NOW IS THE TIME! If the global pandemic has taught us anything, it is that time is precious, and we should never take anything for granted – especially the ability to travel!
The last two years have necessitated us giving up much of what we used to enjoy, but 2022 is the year of REVENGE travel…where we all get back the adventure and exhilaration that we have been missing.
Lately, I have been having a lot of 2022 planning calls and some people think it is too early to start planning. I disagree entirely and here’s why: with all of the pent up demand, availability is a real concern. Thankfully, the pandemic has allowed for very flexible cancellation policies, so why not book that bucket list trip you have been dreaming about?
Another sentiment I have heard a lot from my clients recently is that they just want something to look forward to. So do me a favor and take some time over the holidays to plan out your upcoming year and any trips that you would love to take. Personally, I’m in the process of doing that now because travel is so important to me and part of my job, I am very intentional about planning out our trips…otherwise, they will never happen.
Don’t let 2022 pass you by…get planning!
TIME TO ✅ OFF THE BUCKET LIST
Did you know that most people only have a bucket list of eleven places? And of that list they only have a realistic hope of visiting seven of those locations during their lifetime? It doesn’t have to be that way, and this is the time to start crossing off your list. Whether you have 11 or 100 that you want to see, here are some of the TOP 5 Bucket List Trips that we are seeing trend for 2022:
#1 – Always Africa – Visiting this continent changes people. While most travel to Africa to catch a glimpse of the Big 5 animals while on Safari or for its stunning scenery, it is always the people of Africa that leave imprints on visitors’ hearts.
#2 – Machu Picchu – Being one of the seven wonders of the world, always makes for a top bucket list destination. However, this iconic experience encapsulates history, adventure and awe all into one. Whether you choose to climb the Inca trail (only recommended for very active individuals) or take the train to the top, this 15th century fortress is sure to leave you truly inspired.
#3 – Antarctica/Artic Expedition – Whether you want to go to Earth’s southernmost or northernmost destination, nowhere else can compare with this kind of extreme remoteness. While this is not an ‘easy’ trip, you will be rewarded ten-fold with the breathtaking views, exclusive wilderness and incredible wildlife.
#4 – Australia – You will never have enough time in Australia! Each diverse region of Australia offers a unique experience – from the lively city of Sydney to the world-renowned beaches & surfing of the Gold Coast. Don’t forget about some of the lesser-known regions such as the Canberra District which is known for it’s wine region of Shiraz & Riesling or experiencing the spectacular Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to see ancient rock formations in the Outback.
#5 – Thailand – Travelers are torn between the art, history and temples in the capital city of Bangkok and the idyllic beaches of the Phuket Province. We highly recommend doing a deep dive of Thailand by taking a food tour while in Bangkok and visiting the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, where you can experience rescued elephants in a peaceful and ethical environment.
Traveler Tip: Want a way to cross off multiple Bucket List trips in one? Consider a World Cruise! There are a few cruise lines that are now offering these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to see a plethora of swoon-worthy destinations. Just think, minimal flights (just to your port city) and only having to unpack your bags one time. These itineraries are gaining in popularity post pandemic as travelers seek to get some serious Revenge!
