IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

At least in my opinion!

Kids are back to school, we are all settling into a routine and Labor Day has passed which means that summer is coming to an end.

While I’m sad to see the summer days go, there is something about the fall season that is just amazing!

The morning air is crisper and the leaves start changing. Our evenings are cooler and spent hanging out around the firepit.

And the best part of all…football season is upon us!

We are big football fans in our house and our Labor Day weekend always includes watching the kickoff of the College Football season. This year was even more special because of the energy and excitement in watching the stadiums all full of cheering fans!

One thing the pandemic has taught us, is to be GRATEFUL! Grateful for simple things that we took for granted, like football fans, kids going to school and of course, travel!

Need some fall travel inspiration? Here is one of our favorite options…

FALL’S COLOR CAPITAL – STOWE, VERMONT

This tiny New England town nestled in between the Green Mountains always makes the Top 10 lists for Best Fall Foliage and is perfect for a fall getaway.

Outdoor activities abound in Stowe, from hiking the Stowe Pinnacle for spectacular views of the valley, climbing Cady Hill on a mountain bike or walking along the scenic Stowe Recreation Path, which starts in the historic Stowe Village and ends at a beautiful covered bridge.

Plus the panoramic drives through Vermont’s less traveled back roads are picture-perfect…now this is what fall is all about!

When you are ready to rest from exploring the gorgeous Vermont landscapes, we recommend The Lodge at Spruce Peak.

At the heart of the Green Mountains, guests have easy access to outdoor activities and adventures all year, from ice-skating and snowshoeing in the winter, to mountain biking and championship golf. The Lodge also offers farm-fresh dining, world-class events, and The Spa at Spruce Peak, part of the Green Spa Network. Most accommodations feature private balconies with stunning views, gas fireplaces and elevated in-room amenities. Suites and Penthouses also include in-room laundry and private kitchens.

Time your fall getaway perfectly to pair with the Von Trapp Family Lodge’s Annual Oktoberfest where you can stroll the grounds of this famous Austrian family and sample authentic Bavarian foods.
