We’ve got serious FOMO

November 2, 2022

A few of our Travel Advisor friends are currently partaking in an epic 10-day Familiarization trip (aka FAM trip) to Tanzania and we are more than a little jealous!

One of our top notch suppliers has handpicked the items on their itinerary to educate and provide the Travel Advisors with a small sample of what Tanzania has to offer for our clients.

I have been taking all the notes and living vicariously through their travels as this is an area that I have not yet visited. The amazing part about our jobs, is that we don’t actually have to have been to where our clients want to go. Frankly, it is not even physically possible!

We just lean into our expert suppliers for that destination a little more and they assist us with providing the type of unique experiences and accommodations that our clients are looking for.

It’s all about knowing who to use, when & where!

Sneak Peak

TANZANIA ITINERARY

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and be whisked away to a beautiful private house with views of Mount Kilimanjaro, where you’ll spend the evening relaxing before heading out for safari the next morning.

DAY 2-3 – NORTHERN SERENGETI

Spend the next two nights at a luxurious lodge which enjoys a prime position near the Mara River in the Northern Serengeti for year-round phenomenal game viewing. One early morning, take the ultimate hot air balloon ride over the plains of the Serengeti — truly the opportunity of a lifetime!

DAY 4-5 – EASTERN SERENGETI

From there, take a charter flight to the Eastern Serengeti. Your luxury camp is located on a grassy savannah dotted with rocky kopjes and is shaded by ancient giant acacia trees. Here, you’ll have a chance to walk out into the Serengeti accompanied by skilled Maasai guides to learn about tracking animals large and small and learn close-up details about the landscapes.

DAY 6 – SERONERA VALLEY

Next up in your exquisite journey will be one night at an authentic intimate tented camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti, well-known for year-round game viewing and an abundance of resident big cats.

DAY 7 – NGORONGORO

The fifth stop on this epic tour of Tanzania will be the Ngorongoro Crater region, where you’ll stay at a luxury tented camp, which is set in an ancient acacia forest on the rim of the crater. We’ll explore the Ngorongoro Crater — the largest intact caldera in the world — with our skilled guides. A permanent population of more than 30,000 animals inhabit a mere 100 square miles in the crater, meaning it’s possible to see the Big 5 in the course of a single game drive!

DAY 8-9 – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

For the final part of the journey, set your sights on Tarangire National Park and all it’s beauty. The lodge offers sweeping views across the Tarangire River, and spend your time on game drives and walks through the Tarangire valley, away from the busier northern sections of the park.

DAY 10 – DEPARTURE

Transfer back to Kilimanjaro Airport to start the journey home.
